Antoine Chabot-Couture,

lute archlute baroque guitar guittern fretless lute charango spoons player.

About

Antoine Chabot-Couture is a lutenist and multi-instrumentalist who focuses on the vast family of historical plucked strings instruments, ranging from the medieval guittern to the baroque guitar.

He holds a bachelor’s degree of Early Music Performance from McGill University, where he graduated in 2022, and currently pursues a masters degree in lute at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles in Belgium.

Antoine is devoted to playing early music on reconstructed period instruments. This passion started with a sound : the soft, round and pastel sound of the lute. From the first notes he was convinced that he chose the right path. Ever since, his goal as been to understand the beautiful family of lutes and ancient guitars, and to share his love with others.

Antoine also works as a videographer. He has been filming and editing music-video, live performances and social media content for various artists since 2014.
